Who We Are
Founded in 2010, Tomchei Shabbos (Hebrew for “Supporters of Shabbat”) of Dallas is dedicated to providing essential Shabbat food to families in need within the Jewish community. We operate with complete anonymity and discretion, both donors and recipients remain unknown to one another. Every part of our process is structured in the spirit of Mattan Beseter, Beneficiaries receive credit via email, usable online or in-store for kosher food purchases, ensuring no one knows the true funding source. Through the support of the Dallas Jewish community, your generosity sustains our mission.
How It Works
1. Create a KC Kosher Co‑Op Account
Visit kckoshercoop.com/register to set up a free account. Be sure to use the same email address for correspondence.
2. Application & Submission
Download, complete, and submit the application to your congregation’s rabbi. Additional documentation may be required for verification.
3. Review by Rabbi
Your rabbi and one member of our vetting team, with strict confidentiality, review your submission.
4. Approval Notification
Once approved, KC Kosher Co‑Op will notify you via email that Tomchei Shabbos credit has been applied to your account.
5. Credit Use & Balance Handling
Credits are used when you order kosher food through KC Kosher Co‑Op. Unspent credits roll over for 6 months but cannot be applied to past balances. Failure to pay any remaining balance may impact future assistance.
Important Notes
- Approval does not guarantee monthly distribution—credit depends on availability of funds.
- Monthly credits fluctuate; the current cap is $350, though the average distribution is around $200.
- Qualification lasts 12 months; after that, you may need to reapply.
